BJ Energy Solutions receives Final Judgement Upholding Validity of Granted US Patent No. 10,815,764.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas, Feb. 6, 2023 – Today, the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) issued a favorable Final Written Decision related to a petition filed by Yantai Jereh Petroleum & Equipment Technologies Co., Ltd. (“Jereh”) against United States patent number 10,815,764, entitled “Methods and Systems for Operating a Fleet of Pumps,” (the “‘764 Patent”) assigned to BJ Energy Solutions, LLC (“BJ Energy”).

Granted on October 27th, 2020, the ‘764 Patent relates to operating a fleet of pumps for hydraulic fracturing and, in particular, to systems and methods for operating a directly driven turbine fracturing system for hydraulic fracturing applications.

The PTAB instituted post-grant review of the ‘764 patent as to all challenged claims, which covered ways to utilize maximum continuous power and maximum intermittent power features of BJ Energy’s TITAN direct drive turbine platform.

In its Final Written Decision rejecting all of Jereh’s contentions, the PTAB upheld the validity of all challenged claims of BJ’s ‘764 patent.
